Here are some of the most common questions we hear from guests:
What time do the services begin?
We have two worship services each Sunday. The first is at 9:00a; the second at 10:45a. Each service is identical to the other. So attend the one that best suits your schedule.
| How long do the services typically last? |
Each service lasts around 75 minutes - long enough to have a meaningful encounter with God, but not so long that you wonder, "when's this thing gonna end?"
| What are the services like? What can I expect when I come? |
Each service is focused on encountering God through our praise & worship. We are casual in atmosphere and celebrative in attitude. Our music, which uses songs from the best of our Christian heritage as well as from the modern era, is stylistically contemporary. Each week we explore God's truth, through meaningful but easy to understand messages that are centered in the Bible. Along the way you will find that we use other creative elements like video, drama, and special testimonies to express our worship.

| Do I need to dress up? |
No. Come as you are. On any given Sunday you will see everything from shorts & sandals to dresses & pumps. Generally dress falls somewhere in between, so wear whatever you are most comfortable in.
| How do I get there? |
Our sanctuary, where our worship services are held, is located on the corner of Sierra and Draper St. in Kingsburg. For a detailed map, go to our Contact & Directions page.
| Where do I park? |
Parking is available along both sides of Draper St. near our campus. In addtion we have two parking facilities just behind our Education Building and Ministry Center.
| What about my children and teenagers? |
Childcare is available at both services for infants through two years old.
During the 9:00 service we have a full range of children's Sunday School classes for ages pre-K through sixth grade, as well Junior High and High School gatherings called Student Encounter.
During the 10:45 service we also offer 'Children's Church'. Starting out with their families in the service, three through seven year olds are dismissed midway through the service for an age-appropriate learning time.
In addition to the above minsitries, we have a variety of additional opportunities for children and teens to grow and connect. Check out the respective pages under the Ministries heading in the navigation bar above.
| What does the church believe? |
What we believe is a very important question. We have dedicated considerable attention to this and a few other critical questions like it. You can find answers to these questions on the Beliefs and Vision and Mission pages. If you are interested in our formal, extended statement of faith, click here.
| I have to give money if I come, right? |
No. We do collect an "Offering", as we call it, during each of our Sunday worship services. However, it is intended for those who consider First Baptist their "home" church. We believe that being generous with the resources God has given to us is an important part of our growing as disciples of Jesus Christ.
You may want to know that the ministries at First Baptist are supported exclusively by free-will gifts. So, if you are blessed by the ministry and feel led to share financially, you are welcome to participate in the offering. However, please do not feel any obligation to contribute.
